Tips for auditioning:
- Most YLT shows will now audition by appointment. You can still arrive the night of auditions and sign-up then, but for your convenience you can now call ahead and schedule a specific time. Children's Series productions will NOT use audition appointments.
- Headshots & resumes are gratefully accepted, but NOT required.
- YLT productions are for the community, by the community. All auditions are open to the public, no experience is necessary, and we never pre-cast.
- Auditions for Mainstage & Studio shows start at 7 PM, Children's shows at 6:30 PM.
- Certain productions containing mature content may require parental permission. See audition noticed for more information.
- Familiarize yourself with the production before the audition.
- Wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
- Arrive early.
- Bring a bottle of water.
- Take time to collect yourself before you begin your audition.
- Bring a legible copy of the sheet music for the accompanist or an accompaniment CD.
- If you make a mistake, keep going.
- Relax! The directors are human, too.
- Most importantly, SMILE AND HAVE FUN.
